You are made of stars…. Literally.

I decided to honor and reverence this statement, by making it the title and the soul of my blog. Not only because literally and scientifically, we REALLY are made of stardust. The whole Universe, is the result of the explosion of a star.

This fact fascinates me, not only because of it´s marvellous scientific story, which tell us about how a Supernova star, towards the end of it´s cosmic life, initiates a giant explosion, due to the collapse of it´s nuclear center, which happens in less than a second. The shock waves and material that fly out from the Supernova, are the result of the birth of new stars. Due to the enormous release of energy, those explosions shine brighter than entire galaxies, even bigger than our Milky way galaxy.

Just the thought that the particles left from those explosions are the main inputs from our entire existence, makes me feel utterly happy. This fact brings the spiritual and the rational side of me in complete harmony. How amazing this fact is, that science has proven that we as humans and our galaxy share 97% of the same atoms. When I look at the scientific side, I recognize that what we and the Universe have in common is that we are all made of a complex combination of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur. In other words, matter, energy and space.

The espiritual side of me, agrees with the statement of Stephen Hawking: “When we see the Earth from space, we see ourselves as a whole. We see the unity, and not the divisions. It is such a simple image with a compelling message; one planet, one human race”

This new awareness is a powerful realisation, that no matter what happens in my common, ordinary life; the single fact that I am part of this miracle called existence, that I am part of the whole, makes me understand that I am complete, that I am enough, even if I might feel alone sometimes. We are definitely not alone. Not only do we share the same source of existence; but we do share as well the energy of thoughts, love and spirit. We all want the same: To be happy, to lead a successful life, full of joy. We are made of stars and we all want to get to the stars. We are stars!

“A philosopher once asked, “Are we human because we gaze at the stars, or do we gaze at them because we are human?” Pointless, really…”Do the stars gaze back?” Now, that’s a question.” ― Neil Gaiman
